Abalone Shell - 10574

Abalones are a type of edible sea snail but are best know for the mother-of-pearl inner surface of the shell which reveals beautiful iridescent colors. These shells are very popular not only as decorative display pieces but are also used in jewelry making. These shells vary slightly in size and coloration but average about 5 1/2" x 4 1/2" each.
