Ammonites, now extinct, are a prehistoric Mollusk whose closest modern relative is the pearly Nautilus. They existed millions of years ago. This is a gorgeous, richly colored fossilized shell which was sliced down the middle and polished to create a matching pair. Sold as a pair only. This fossilized shell pair that you see in the photo is the exact same one you will be purchasing. Each shell half measures 7 5/8” x 6 ¼”.
